George Washington Carver: 1864- 1943
Bios: He is known for his inventions and work in agricultural science.
He is also known for being one of the first african american men to pioneer the agricultural science
field.
He was denied admission to his first choice college based on race, but was accepted in as the first
make black student to Simpson College. He was enrolled to study art and piano. He won fame as an artist.
Carver won fame for his crop rotation system and his great achievements in agricultual science.
He later won fellowship at Tuskgee University and was award an honorary doctoral degree from Tuskegee
University.
